It's humbling to think that 20 thousand people have looked at my little page here. And in less than a year too. I remember in November last year thinking it would be cool to get 10 thousand pageviews by my first year of being on here. At that time, I had about 3,000 pageviews, so it's even more humbling to think that I've received 17 thousand pageviews since December
I appreciate them all and I thank everyone for all the feedback on my work that I have received during my time on dA. Looking back at my work I can see that just from being on this site and receiving feedback and getting inspiration from others that my photos have improved immensely.
A special thankyou to reuisu and unknown-entity who were the first people to ever comment on anything of mine on dA and made me think that it might be worth submitting more of my photos here
In other news, my birthday is coming up on the 24th of April, so you can all buy one of my prints as a gift to me hahaha ... no I'm serious
Also, if you're from Adelaide, adelaidedeviants are holding a devMeet on the 30th of April at the Botanic Gardens. Go to their page for more info
*Man, I love this song. Well, I guess it's not a song, since it has no words, but it's great music. From Oceans 12 (but not on the soundtrack for some reason), but you can visit the site (it's in French) or download the song from that site. If you know French, can you tell me what the song is called in English? Google said it was "Mint Tea"

Just a quick update to say thanks to my friends, watchers and random commenters on here for the support, encouragement and feedback on my work. Apparently people have looked at this humble page over 100,000 times now, so thanks to you lurkers too :)
It’s quite a milestone. I remember when I first signed up back in 2004, I was interested in photography but wasn’t particularly good. I still have a lot of my old work in my scraps if you're interested. But from the feedback and inspiration I found on here, I was able to quickly develop and hone my talent to become the 100,000-pageview-receiveing photographer you see (read) before you
GIMP video tutorials
If you’ve been keeping up with my site, you should know I’ve posted a couple of GIMP video tutorials recently. One was inspired by Tordo (https://www.deviantart.com/tordo)'s work Unexpectedly where I recreated the patterned sky effect in GIMP (then the next night I showed how to do the same thing in photoshop... it's on the same page).
Then the other night I recreated my most popular Youtube tutorial (+40k views on there :O) on getting vintage colours in Photoshop (in that post i also explain how and why it works).
So now you can get vintage colours in GIMP too. I remade it entirely in Ubuntu (no going back to windows for editing this time) and it’s av
NYC
I'm back from NYC. What an awesome place 8-)
Got 265 photos that I like. Put them on Flickr here: http://flickr.com/photos/lukeroberts/sets/72157604145621082/
But if you don't have half an hour to look through them, I've picked out my favourite 18 which you can see here: http://flickr.com/photos/lukeroberts/sets/72157604150662593/
Also, just put a new tutorial on my site, about applying a macro lens effect digitally with Photoshop.

I finally got around to making myself a proper website. I decided to go the blog/wordpress route for ease of updating and themeability. It’s been going for a few days now, and so far has been updated every day :O
http://lukeroberts.us – not really any reason for the .us extension. It was just available and looks kinda nice. Saves one keystroke too.
Not sure how long I could keep updating it every day, especially since I’m going to New York City next week 8-) Just going for a week for a bit of a holiday. Should be good – hopefully many photos will follow.
Oh I'm in London now, in case people haven't noticed.
