We were walking along near the end of the Adelaide meet and i saw this scene and just had to take it. Reminds me so much of a Jeffrey Smart painting (i seem to be drawing a lot of inspiration from paintings lately...).

Taken at the Adelaide meet with *h-o-l-z , ~SirNick and ~rogie

lol yeah whats with smart and old men anyway ???
I just love the whole smooth / pristine feeling of his images yet they are always of industrial type subjects...

Are you fammiliar with the freeway into Melbourne from the Tullamarine airport? Theres a bit with a big Yellow pillar and on the other side of the freeway lots of smaller red ones ... I grew up in Victoria and traveled this road LOTS!!! every time i drove past that point I imagined i was in a smart painting ....( if you know it you'll get what I'm on about!).... anyway it has compelled me to do a painting of of it in his style.... just one problem...I can't paint! lol

Fantastic picture. Contrast, color clearness... It shows a surreal environment, devoid of life, framing the sky.

Yeah i like how 'artificial' it seems to look. Everything so clean and pure... have you seen Jeffrey Smarts paintings? They look a bit like this  Anyway, thanks for the feedback! Glad you like the shot :)

You're right when you say it resembles a Jeffery Smart painting because his always seem to blur the line between reality and a painting....

It looks identical to Jeffery Smart's works, especially the blue sky and the red of the road signs. Nice work. You have a lovely gallery.

Loving that sky! As always. How clean and smart yet industrial does this place look!? Very nice indeed, but without that No Entry sign and red stand for the car barrier it would be a bit bland. Nice observation.

That's beautiful. The "No ENtry" sign gives it a feeling that you aren't allowed into this utopia of nature that awaits beyond the concrete world. Surrealism at it's best. Plus, it's a real photo, That just makes it even better. :+fav:

No worries.

I know what you mean: it's lovely to know people like an image but much nicer to know why. Then you can keep doing it right. :) Also, I'm learning quite a bit about composition through the comments people make about my own work. Sometimes you don't even realise you are doing something right!
