This was my final assignment for 3D at uni. I'm fairly happy with the model. I don't consider it finished though, since it has no doors, door-handles, window pillars or any detail at all really. But it's my first time making anything very complex like a car.
I guess there's about 10 hours work in it. I made a lot of the car during the past few weeks, but i wasn't sure when it was due. The lecturer didn't put the due date on the website so i had no idea and thought it was due on the 24th. But on the 22nd, i found out that it was actually due on the 20th
But i was able to hand it in without getting any marks off, because a lot of people had asked for extensions or were having trouble. But i had to finish the car, make the background and finish it all off in a few hours before it was due (on the 23rd, at noon... i had to wake up at 6am and go to uni ).
Personally, i'm more proud of the background than the car itself. I made all the textures from verious photos and gave them bump and specular maps, so they look fairly realistic.
I made a short animation with the camera moving around the car and it looked really cool

Made in Maya 6 and rendered with the normal software renderer i didn't have time to learn how to use Mental Ray
I thought it was a picture of your car when I saw the thumbnail You really have a way of surprising me. It looks really real. And the background is cool too Very realistic. Great work Hope you get a good grade on it
Just a quick overview. If you put some coulds in the sky propably will look even more realistic. You did a great work in the scenary Hope to see the car finished
That's true. I wanted to put clouds in, but i didn't get time to find a good cloud image to use as the texture. And i wasn't sure how to go about making 3D clouds, which would take even longer to render. But you are right It's on my to-do list
Thanks from far away it does look pretty realistic. Maybe if i do some more work on it, it will look realistic on the fullview too haha thanks for the feedback
